More than 300 million containers have been returned in Victoria since the beginning of the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) nearly 5 months ago and Ballarat has been playing its part.

“If you look at where the volume is coming in, we’ve got huge numbers coming in from regional Victoria.”

“We are still trying to work out why that is and why regional Victorians have been so good at adopting the scheme, and so well organised,” Mr. Round said.

More than 13 million containers have been returned through Ballarat’s nine sites so far.
