Four females are in custody following a major police operation in Ballarat’s CBD this afternoon, a witness telling this newsroom that at least two of them were crash tackled to the ground after a short chase.
It’s understood police had previously been investigating arson offences in Sebastopl on Thursday night.
A speeding vehicle that was linked to that investigation was intercepted with stop-sticks near the Scott Parade and Peel Street round-a-bout just before 1pm today.

The offences are believed to be family violence related.
Victoria Police media have been contacted for further details.
