While residents are encouraged to prepare their properties based on the outlook – we’re reminded to inform the fire authorities ahead of time.

The advice comes on the back of the Fire Danger Period declaration for the City of Ballarat, Hepburn, Pyranees, Moorabool and Golden Plains Shires, with restrictions kicking in at 1am on December 19.

If you are using fire to clean up your property ahead of the FDP, you should notify authorities of
the burn-off at the Fire Permits Victoria website at www.firepermits.vic.gov.au, or by calling
ESTA on 1800 668 511.
