A teenage boy has been critically injured in a single-vehicle crash at Victoria Park, Newington.
Emergency services – including firefighters and paramedics – responded to reports of a collision around 9pm on Monday, September 7th.
In a statement issued last night, Victoria Police confirmed the car was travelling through the area when it struck a tree near the intersection of Poplar and Plane Avenues.
“The 16-year-old male passenger, from Alfredton, is expected to be airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries,” a police spokesperson said.
“The 18-year-old male driver, from Alfredton, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Police will investigate to determine what caused the crash.”
Photos taken at the scene in the aftermath of the collision appear to show a blue Subaru Impreza sedan wearing red P-plates, with its passenger side heavily damaged.
