A second regional service hub is set to be established at Ballarat’s central train station to support people with mobility issues.

To be run by not-for-profit Travellers Aid, it will complement hubs already operational at Seymour, Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations.

Lynda Russell from Travellers Aid says they’re currently recruiting about 15 volunteers.

“They’ll need general fitness; they need to be flexible and adaptable.”

“Ideally they’ll be able to work unsupervised and work independently and have a glass half full attitude,” Ms. Russell said.

An exact start date for the service is yet to be determined.
