Detectives from two major police units have now joined the search for missing Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy.
A spokesperson from Victoria Police has confirmed the investigation team from the Missing Persons Squad has been expanded, with detectives from Crime Command and Counter Terrorism Command units.
Police say the highly skilled detectives have been selected for the experience in complex and protracted investigations.
They insist they have not been selected because they believe her disappearance is terrorism related.
A large-scale search for Samantha is planned for this weekend, with people from around the country reportedly travelling to the region this Saturday.
