There’s been a happy ending today in the case of the mystery passport.
The document dated from 1923 was handed-in to Ballarat Police recently with no trace of its owner Clare Yung.
It turns out Clare’s great granddaughter was researching her family history and lost it in Victoria Street.
“Special thankyou to the person who located the passport and handed it into the police station and to the public for your assistance in helping us locate the owner,” a Ballarat police spokesperson said.
The near century old document is now safely back in family hands.
