Selfless Ballarat war hero to be remembered this ANZAC Day with a special badge

A Ballarat born war hero will be remembered this month through the release of a specially minted ANZAC Day badge.

The limited edition $50 Leslie ‘Bull’ Allen badge will be for sale around the state with only 100 available locally via the Ballarat RSL.

The league says Bull Allen was a selfless hero, with an unwavering commitment to saving lives.

In an act of true heroism, Bull rescued 12 wounded American soldiers from a battlefield in New Guinea in 1943, one man at a time.
