Ballarat Harriers Cooper Sherman has continued his terrific form with back-to-back impressive runs in AVSL Round 9 in Ballarat over the weekend.

The 20-year-old star and former Australian representative at the World U20 Championships has sprinted back into form with two personal best (PB) times and potentially a state record.

The local athlete started the day with a huge 10.45s 100m time storming out of the blocks for the win.

This run is the fastest legal 100m time by an Australian athlete so far in 2024, however verification is still pending.

Sherman then followed up with an electrifying 400m win in 46.80s, another PB beating his time at the World U20’s in Cali, Columbia.

Again, this time is the fastest over 400m by an Australian athlete this year.

Sherman will be back this long-weekend at the Victorian Country Athletics Championships in Ballarat to continue his dominating form with his eyes clearly set on a relay spot for the Paris Olympics.
