Police officer busted for alleged drink driving in Ballarat Central

An off-duty police officer has been busted allegedly drink driving in Ballarat.

In the early hours of January 20th, the male sergeant from the Western region was pulled over by patrols, who allegedly saw a car drive through a red light at the Sturt and Lydiard Street intersection.

The 41-year-old underwent a breath test, allegedly returning a reading of .115.

His licence has been suspended for 11 months and his car has been impounded, with the officer expected to be charged on summons with traffic and drink driving offences.
