Investigations are underway following an apparent hit-and-run collision overnight in Canadian.
Police believe a man was fatally struck by a green Ford Fiesta hatchback just after midnight on Monday, August 17th along Butt Street.
The vehicle suspected of being involved was found abandoned on nearby Elsworth St shortly after, without registration plates.

It appears to have significant damage to its front-bumper and windscreen.
Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are leading an investigation into the matter, with police appealing for anyone in the area to check their CCTV or dash-cam for footage that may be able to assist with their inquiries.
