One of Ballarat’s most ugly and high-profile buildings finally sells.

One of Ballarat’s most maligned buildings has this week been sold.

Norwich Plaza, with its infamous stuck clock, was listed as sold on Tuesday by commercial Melbourne based agents Gorford Allard Shelton.

The plaza, which opened in 1981, was considered futuristic at the time and boasts 16 tenancies, many of which are vacant today.

Details of the new owner or price are yet to emerge but in 2019 it was listed for sale for more than $5 million.

The sale comes as the City of Ballarat looks to invest more than $15 million in the Bridge Mall / Bakery Hill precinct to revitalise the area.
