Almost 30 dogs will now have a place to call home for Christmas in Ballarat, but there’s still more to go.

27 furry friends have been adopted from the Ballarat Animal Shelter this month in its re-homing drive.

The shelter is continuing to provide care for 33 dogs, 14 of which they are calling on the Ballarat community to take in if they can.

There is a rehoming fee of $410 for all dogs at the Animal Shelter, which includes veterinary checks, worming and flea treatment, desexing, microchip, and City of Ballarat registration if you are from the City of Ballarat municipality.

Mayor, Cr Daniel Moloney, was astounded by the community support to rehome some wonderful canine companions.

“It has been great to see so many people spread the word and encourage others to adopt a new family member from our shelter,” he said.

There are also 61 cats available for adoption from the shelter.
