The first public guide-dog relieving station in Ballarat will be launched tomorrow.
The facility, near the multi-storey carpark in Doveton Street South, aims to give those with guide and companion dogs more freedom.
Disability advocate, Heidi Biggin, says it’s a positive move, but we’ve still got a long way to go.
“Two places I’m aiming [for] next are the hospital and the train station,” she said.
“I’d love to be able to go to Melbourne and have one on the other end as well at Southern Cross. That’ll be my next goal.”
