A listener has called-out the state of the sign signifying the start of the Steve Moneghetti Track at Lake Wendouree.
Greg Baker says the sign is in appalling condition and ‘Mona’ must feel a little let down every time he runs past it.
Another nearby sign describes the Olympian and Commonwealth Games champion as a Ballarat ‘icon’.
However, Cr Belinda Coates says they’re about to tidy up the area.
“Works are due to start in March.”
“The arrival sign will be replaced, marker signs renewed, and path edging will also be renewed around the start and the finish lines,” Cr Coates said.
When told of the call to fix his sign, Mona as expected was extremely relaxed about the situation.
“I run there so often I don’t notice, but appreciate the call to arms,” Mr. Moneghetti said.
