Scott Morrison has sung the praises of Ballarat’s Prime Minister’s Avenue after his own brass bust was unveiled last Friday.
The 30th installment of a PM’s head has been created by sculptor Martin Moore after a generous donation by B.R. Carlson.
The next four are also funded.
“It’s humbling in terms of being involved in that wonderful tradition there in Ballarat.”
“It’s a tribute to both Ballarat City Council and those who have been sustaining it for so many years since the 1940’s.”
“I think it’s a wonderful tradition and a great addition to Ballarat, it’s not about the individuals who are on that avenue but more what that represents I think,” Mr. Morrison said.
Meantime, the Herald Sun reports that extra security has been hired to protect the avenue from vandalism in the short term, following an attack in January last year.
