Despite having 4 local competitors in the final of yesterday’s women’s Ballarat Gift, a hometown victory wasn’t to be.
Queenslander Emily Carty winning the $2500 first prize purse in just under 14 seconds ahead of Ballarat sprinters Chloe Kinnersley and Keely Henderson.
In the men’s race the man they call “The White Tiger” Chad Perris was too quick in blustery conditions at the City Oval.
The 30-year-old is Australia’s fastest ever Paralympian and a bronze medalist from the Rio Olympic Games.
Ballarat’s Patrick Martin came home fifth.
