Future of two heritage buildings focus of Ballarat planning meeting

Protecting local heritage buildings will be on Ballarat councillors minds tonight at a planning committee meeting.

Addington’s Lintel Grange Homestead is on the agenda again, with its owners agreeing to work with council to retain as much of the 1860’s property as possible.

It had previously been described as unsafe and derelict.

And a Federation-style brick building along Creswick Road, next to Bunnings, could be demolished if its owners get their way.

However, the City of Ballarat says the former home and its garage are of local historic significance, having been designed by prominent architect Percy Richards.

The meeting will be held tonight at 6:30pm.
