Former MP running for the voice arrives in Ballarat

A number of Ballarat locals have welcomed ultramarathon runner Pat Farmer to the city, as he ‘runs for the Voice.’

The former Liberal MP is running over 14,000 kilometres around the country over 6 months, speaking in support of the Indigenous Voice to Parliament at every opportunity.

Speaking to residents yesterday, Mr. Farmer said it’s most important now we allow First Nations people to take control and have a say in their own destiny.

In a statement on her Facebook page, Member for Ballarat Catherine King said they both served in the Parliament at the same time on opposite sides of the chamber, and the issue is bigger and more important than party politics.
