Extension of Ballarat e-scooter trial welcomed by police

Ballarat police have tentatively welcomed the fact the cities e-scooters are here to stay.

The Minister for Transport confirming the decision recently, whilst also announcing a six-month extension of the trial to collect more data.

Senior Sergeant Brad Hall says road safety, no matter how you’re travelling, is paramount.

“What we encourage people to do is to use them safely and lawfully,” he said.

“Road safety is everyone’s concern, and we need to make sure people are using those things safely. If they’re here to stay, then safety is the number one ticket that we need people to adhere to.”
