Ballarat’s Federal MP has come out in defense of the Prime Minister after today’s election promise back-flip on stage-3 tax cuts.
Catherine King says all 65,000 taxpayers in the Ballarat electorate will be better off, with the average tax cut being $1435.
She says around 57,000 people, or 87% of taxpayers, will receive a bigger tax cut than they would have under the plan Scott Morrison legislated five years ago.
“Under Labor’s plan 97% of childcare workers, disability carers and aged care workers will be better off, 96% of nurses will be better off and 98% of teachers will be better off,” Ms. King said.
Liberal leader Peter Dutton has hit out at the changes saying, ‘voters won’t accept a liar as a prime minister’.
