The number of people who marched in solidarity for three murdered Ballarat women on Friday night has been revised up.

Drone footage has shown that what was originally reported as hundreds of people was actually more than 2500.

March organiser Sissy Austin says it was warming to see the community supporting the grieving family members of Samantha Murphy, Rebecca Young and Hannah McGuire in such large numbers.

“That’s just a representation of the Ballarat community.”

“People were there to wrap their arms around the families who are grieving and also stand side by side as women to say enough is enough with men’s violence in our community.”

The march concluded in Camp Street with a series of speakers including Samantha Murphy’s husband Mick, locally based ‘Our Watch’ CEO Patty Kinnersly and Ballarat’s Federal MP Catherine King.
