Daylesford crash victims identified, as driver interviewed

Police have now interviewed the 66-year-old male driver involved in the weekend’s fatal crash at Daylesford.

Five people were killed when an SUV drove into an outdoor dining area at the Royal Hotel, just after 6pm on Sunday.

A family from Point Cook in Melbourne’s southwest, including 30-year-old Jatin Chugh, his partner 44-year-old Pratibha Sharma, and her 9-year-old daughter Anvi, were killed in the crash.

A 38-year-old Tarneit man Vivek Bhatia and his 11-year-old son Vihaan also lost their lives.

The driver remains under medical care, and at this stage no charges have been laid.
