COVID cases grow in Ballarat but pace slows

Ballarat’s COVID cases have jumped by 24% in the past week, a slight improvement on the 28% growth we saw the week prior.

539 new infections were added, that’s an average of 77 per day, with all-time cases closing in on the unwanted milestone of 50,000.

By comparison to Ballarat, Greater Bendigo added 623 infections.
 
Sadly, an average of 8 people died from COVID state-wide per day last week with a 28% jump in hospitalisations.
