Art will soon spill out into the streets of Ballarat with construction underway to enhance a city centre space.
Works have begun to overhaul Alfred Deakin Place off Camp Street, including installing seating that will be used to view next door’s Art Gallery of Ballarat outdoor installations.
The space will feature a permanent 5-meter giant screen for films and public events and should be finished by July.
“This project is about creating an outdoor space to support our artists and give members of the public a place to enjoy what the Art Gallery of Ballarat can offer and in turn further supporting the creative industries,” Cr. Mark Harris said.
The project has been fully funded by the State Government’s COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund 2021, targeting industries most impacted by the pandemic.
