“The Skipton community are incredibly resilient,” said Mayor Cr Ruth Gstrein said.

“Many of them have been through this before and know how to pitch in and support one another.”

“Thanks to everyone who has been involved on the frontline of response and more recently at the recovery—our SES and CFA volunteers and other organisations involved. They’ve done an amazing job,” Mayor Gstrein said.

Corangamite Shire Council is encouraging the wider community to call in to offer help and to check its Facebook page for a ‘Super Saturday’ clean-up scheduled for this weekend.
