Business alliance come out against World Cup public holiday

The Victorian Regional Chamber Alliance, of which Commerce Ballarat is a part, has come out against the proposed public holiday if the Matilda’s make the World Cup final.

They say last year’s holiday following the death of Queen Elizabeth II cost about $2 billion in lost productivity nationwide.

Instead, the alliance is encouraging decorations and watch parties, and even say businesses could create Aussie promotional items.
