COVID has been blamed for many things and now it’s being blamed for a shortage of work experience opportunities for young people.
The Ballarat based Highlands LLEN says getting students into businesses is proving difficult which impacts their career options, maturity and independence.
The LLEN’s Polly Britten says it’s a real problem that has lasting impacts.

“As a result, the kids, they don’t have any work experience.”
“A lot of them have got anxiety leaving high school and trying to get into the workforce and we’re hearing that loud and clear from industry,” she said.
