Ballarat ranked in RSPCA’s animal cruelty map

The RSPCA has launched a new map showing the state’s animal cruelty hotspots.

Ballarat had one-hundred and eighty-four reports of cruelty in the last financial year.. coming in twentieth in Victoria.

RSPCA says the most common form of cruelty is neglect, making up almost half of all reports received – with reports including lack of food and water, hygeine and grooming.

The organisation says there were more than ten and a half thousand reports of animal cruelty across the state in the last financial year.

Geelong and Casey have held the top spots for the second year in a row.
