Ballarat high jumper Yual Reath has had an outstanding weekend with the return of the state league athletics (AVSL) competition.
In round 10 he jumped a personal best and a Ballarat Regional Athletics Centre open record leaping 2.26m in great conditions at the track.
Ballarat coaching great Paul Cleary says he can go even higher.
“He still hasn’t got everything right yet, so yes, he can jump higher still,” Mr. Cleary said.
Reath is now not far off the automatic qualifying mark for the Paris Olympics with the result putting him in a great position to make the Australian team.
