The City of Ballarat says a proposed organisational realignment will not impact jobs negatively.
Plans have been released to create a 5th directorate called ‘Economy, Experience and Commonwealth Games’ which will bring together tourism, events, cultural assets such as the Art Gallery as well as the games.
CEO Evan King says staff are being consulted and the unions informed.

“This isn’t about job losses, this is purely about aligning a group of services, that make a hell of a lot of sense, being in a directorate together,” Mr. King said.
Speaking to Radio Ballarat today, Ballarat Regional Tourism Chairman Paul Martino has backed the move saying it’s exciting from a tourism and events perspective.
