The Chief Executive of Ballarat council has admitted that stolen cars that get wrecked and them dumped in the CBD are not a good look.

Evan King says there’s quite a process to go through once reported.

“We want to make it quick.”

“I totally agree that there’s nothing worse than seeing abandoned vehicles littered around the city.”

“We want to do it as quickly as possible but obviously there’s a few steps we need to go through before we can actually remove it,” Mr. King said.

Council also clarified that it is only responsible for removing vehicles that are left on land they own or manage.

Any abandoned vehicle however can be reported to the City of Ballarat’s customer service team or via the Snap Send Solve app.
