“Ballarat Afghan Action Group seeks to honour the young students massacred in Kabul for daring to learn, and to acknowledge their traumatised community,” said action group member David Mac Phail.

“We also acknowledge the ongoing trauma of our partners in Afghanistan and our own local network of Afghans, particularly the Hazara women.”

The candlelight vigil will be held at the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of the Ballarat Town Hall in Sturt Street from 6pm.
