Some hip pocket relief is coming for Victorians as electricity costs continue to soar.

In an effort to combat the cost of living crisis, the Andrews Labor Government is opening up another round of the Power Saving Bonus, in which every Victorian household will receive $250 when they compare electricity prices at the Victorian Energy Compare website.

Previous rounds of the bonus were available in 2021 and 2022; people who’ve received the bonus through other rounds are still eligible for the latest round.

The incentive is to encourage people to shop around for energy offers and make sure they are getting the best rate for their home electricity in the face of soaring prices.

In Ballarat, recent data from Vinnies shows our average annual combined energy bill is $3710, that’s a whopping $875 increase.

Some other parts of the state have hit more than $4000 a year.

Households will be able to hit the Victorian Energy Compare website and claim the $250 from the 24th of March.
