The Cheers and Frasier star, Kelsey Grammer, is expecting his eighth baby with wife Kayte Walsh. This will be Walsh and Grammer’s fourth child together, and whilst the 70-year old Kelsey Grammer has stated the child was a surprise it is far from an unwelcome one. Sources have indicated that not only has Grammer been incredibly supportive of Walsh, he’s actively excited to be able to do all the father things now that he has more time on his hands and seeks to fully embrace his wife and his family during this next step in his life.
Grammer and Walsh married all the way back in 2011, after meeting on a plane in 2009. Since then they’ve had three other children (Faith 12, Gabriel 10, and James 8). The Cheers star has commented on being an older father with “Honestly, the beauty of being an older dad is you get a chance to kinda try it again. That’s been a real gift.”. Even expressing that whilst being a working father he felt he had not been the best father he could to his eldest child, with whom he has now repaired their relationship.
With the huge career that Grammer has had, hands-on parenting was something he’s expressed missing out on and seeks to finally get his fill of now. Whilst Kelsey Grammer has indeed taken a step away from the acting scene to focus on his family, he’s not exactly retired, with a handful of projects still on the horizon including Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday which is currently shooting in the UK.
