Locals are being encouraged to provide feedback on the Ballarat North Precinct Structure Plan from today.
Around 5600 homes are proposed 8-kilometers north of the CBD, the plan also incorporates infrastructure such as schools, shops, parks and sports reserves.
Cr Samantha McIntosh says the level of planning for developments of this scale are now at a higher level than previously.

“We’ve seen developments around Ballarat over previous decades that haven’t had this planning.”
“It’s taken us decades to try and pick them up and get them to be able to deliver to a healthy, connected and active community,” Cr McIntosh said.
