Scorching heat set to slow Ballarat trains

With the mercury set to hit 37 degrees in Ballarat tomorrow, a full extreme heat timetable will be in place for several V/Line train services.

Trains on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines will be travelling at slower speeds along their entire route for safety reasons.

Travellers are urged to check the V/Line website for updated times and allow extra time for travel.

Meantime, the numbers are in, and V/Lines performance on the Ballarat line for December was close to target.

Reliability came in at 95.9% with an aim of 96%, whilst punctuality was slightly behind at 90% against a target of 92%. On time is considered to 5 minutes and 59 seconds.
