State Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison, says she understands Ballarat’s bus network needs an urgent review, but at this point in time there’s no money to make it happen.

A recent survey from council shows commuters want more direct routes and better frequency.

Last week, member of Ballarat Council’s Disability Advisory Committee, Heidi Biggin, said she’s forced to spend about $200 a week on taxi’s, because there’s no bus route anywhere near her Lucas home.

Ms. Addison says she gets the problems that are occurring in Ballarat’s west.

“I’m continuing to talk to the Minister for Transport, Ben Carroll. He was in Ballarat last week, we had a good chat about busses then,” she said.

“I know that the system is not delivering. It’s not delivering for our newest residents, people who are building their dream homes in Winter Valley and in Lucas.”
