Ballarat will get a new cycling event later in the year aimed at keeping the community fit and looking after our mental health.
Called Tomb Rider, with the word tomb standing for ‘Top of Mount Buninyong’, the ride will take place on a similar course to the former Road Nats.
Organiser Michael Lewis says there’ll also be an event village at De Soza Park for local agencies to showcase their mental well-being programs.
“The event is going to be two pronged.”
“We’ll have the cycling going on around the course and there’s going to be an event village at De Soza Park where these local groups can promote to the community about what mental health and well-being support they provide.”
“So, the public can come in, ask general questions, and find out what’s available,” Mr. Lewis said.
Tomb Rider will be held on the AFL Grand Final public holiday on Friday 27th September.
