Landscaping works to begin at botanical gardens fernery

New landscaping works are set to begin at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens Fernery, to be completed in time for the 2024 Begonia Festival.

The gardens have showcased a fernery since the 1880’s, being one of the few gardens in the country to do so.

The work will create a new entrance to the gardens via Wendouree Parade – with the introduction of a forecourt designed around the Claxton Monument.

Landscaping will take place at the rear of the structure, connecting the fernery with the rest of the gardens.
