“Just leave the cutting open for longer” says Save our Lake Chairman

The fight to keep Lake Learmonth permanently full is gaining momentum.

Prominent Ballarat real estate agent Matthew Stevens, who has a property at Learmonth, was appointed as Chairman of the ‘save our lake’ group last week.

The group says the problem can be largely fixed by the City of Ballarat leaving Morton’s Cutting open for longer.
 
“Talk to the locals, they know what’s going on.”

“There’s no reason why the gates should be closed on November 30th, keep it open a little bit longer,” Mr Stevens said.
 
Despite a record breaking October for rainfall Lake Learmonth is still not quite full.
