The City of Ballarat have condemned the damage to a floral pride flag display in Sturt Street.
The flowers were specially cultivated for the display since the start of the year, with the flag now to be removed in the coming days.
In a statement, Mayor of the City of Ballarat, Cr. Tracey Hargreaves, says they’re committed to ensuring members of the LGBTIQ plus community feel safe and feel they belong in Ballarat.

She says it’s very disappointing to see such narrow-mindedness from a small minority of people.
Council is urging anyone with information on the vandalism to report it to Victoria Police.
