The race to become Ballarat’s next mayor is on.
On Monday night at Town hall councillors will vote for who they want as the cities next mayor and deputy mayor for a 12-month term.
Cr Damon Saunders says he’s putting his hand up for the top job to stop the waste of ratepayer’s money.
“I love Ballarat, I’m from Ballarat, I’ve grown up here.”
“I want to make this place a better place to live and work and visit as well.”
“I hate wasting Ballarat ratepayers’ money and I want to improve continuous improvement,” Cr Saunders said.
According to Cr Saunders he will be running for the position against the current mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves.
Current deputy mayor Ben Taylor will be challenged by Cr Jim Rinaldi.
