Cashed up tourists have pushed Ballarat’s visitor expenditure past pre-COVID benchmarks.
New data shows $663 million was spent in the city last year, way ahead of the $490 million back in March 2020.
It’s not all good news however, with overall figures showing Ballarat is still lagging behind other regional Victorian cities.

Tourism Research Australia data found the total tourism spend in Victoria to end-March 2023 hit $35 billion, 15 months ahead of targets set by the industry.
