Australia’s best under 20 basketball talent heading to Ballarat

The countries best under twenty basketball talent will arrive in Ballarat later this month.

The city has been selected to host the 2024 Under 20 and Ivor Burge National Championships from January 30th to February 4th at Selkirk Stadium.

28 teams from across Australia will be participating, with Olympians to come through past championships including Tess Magden and NBA star Dante Exum.

The NBA Global Academy will showcase some of the countries’ best up and coming athletes, fielding a team in the men’s division.

The Ivor Burge competition for athletes with an intellectual disability will also have six men’s and four women’s teams competing.

In a statement, CEO of Basketball Australia, Matt Scriven, says the national championships are an important part of the development pathway for athletes.

Mr. Scriven says the games will be extremely competitive and encourages locals to come and watch the ‘Olympians of the future’.
