Australian Cross Country champs hit Ballarat this weekend with plenty of local stars on show

The region will be well represented at this weekend’s Australian Cross Country Championships in Ballarat.

The Ballarat region will have 34 runners competing on the Victoria Park circuit, 16 of those will be representing the state.

Event ambassador, and local marathon champion, Steve Moneghetti says the best runners from right around the country will be here.

“Cross Country is my first love, it’s where my first race was out at Lake Burrumbeet many years ago.”

“To have the National Championships here is pretty extraordinary, and we’ll see some of the best cross-country runners in Australia here represented from all states,” Mr. Moneghetti said.
