The Chief Executive Officer of one of Ballarat’s biggest community support organisations has hit out at being left off the invite list for today’s National Bush Summit.
The 5th summit in the series, held at the Civic Hall in Ballarat this morning, featured the Prime Minister and Premier amongst other key leaders.
CAFS CEO Wendy Sturgess says she would have liked to be there to promote what they do.
“We’re disappointed that we’ve been overlooked.”
“Having been here for 160 years, we’re pretty embedded in this community.”
“We are Ballarat based, all our decisions are made here, we employ around 300 people,” Mrs. Sturgess said.
Meantime, police had a higher-than-normal visible presence in the CBD because of the summit.
Officers patrolled on foot and positioned along key roads to help manage traffic and ensure safety.
