Whether Ballarat ratepayers will get a discount on this years Western Bulldogs deal remains unclear.

Council is spending $1.45 million over three years to get AFL action to Ballarat, however with the current grandstand works at Mars Stadium last weekend’s game against Adelaide was moved to Marvel Stadium.

There are also fears games next year may have to be moved as construction continues.

Acting CEO of the City of Ballarat, Martin Darcy, says discussions remain ongoing.

“The recompence for what has happened with the game being moved is still being worked through with the AFL and The Bulldogs.”

“So, I can’t really shed any light on that yet,” Mr. Darcy said.

Ballarat will however host an AFLW game this year at Mars Stadium with the Western Bulldogs set to take on Gelong on October 26th.
