Ballarat City Council’s overall performance is worse than the state-wide average, according to a community satisfaction survey.
The results from JWS Research show Ballarat’s overall council performance were rated 51 out of 100, compared to 54 out of 100 for other regional centres’ and the state-wide average of 53 out of 100.
Waste management, customer service and overall performance were the top three performing areas, whilst sealed local roads were the worst.
Only the categories of overall council direction, sealed local roads and customer service improved on last year’s results.
Those aged between 18 to 34 and over the age of 65 rated council’s overall performance the highest, with residents aged 50 to 64 rating it the lowest.
