Since the last World Test Championship, Australia faced off against the English on their in the UK with an Ashes victory of 2-2. After their ashes tour the next time they’d see a defeat was against the West Indies at the Gabba early in 2024, they then saw a loss in the first test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series over the summer just gone. These are the four loses are the only defeats they have seen since the last World Test Championship, having played a total go 19 games with only 4 losses. Australia currently are on a winning streak going into this test match, after beating India on our home soil the last two test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, then won a 2-0 victory against Sri Lanka shortly after.

South Africa finished on the top of the table at the end of the scoring season. Having played 12 games, the side only saw 3 defeats since the last World Test Championship, one against India and two against New Zealand. The side however shot to the top of the table with seven consecutive victory’s.
